If you don't want to keep it as a novelty, and you can't get someone to haul it off for free via offering it on Craigslist, then your best option is to take it to the dump. In short, there's a reason the former owner didn't bother to remove it or sell it themselves. They are also expensive to service and parts are increasingly difficult to find. In general most will have minimal value, as they don't fit modern musical tastes, are heavy and bulky to move, and are not particularly useful to church/classical organists for practice instruments.

Unfortunately the "spinet" type organs (of any brand) produced with partial manuals and one-octave pedals were cheap when manufactured and generally have not appreciated in value. This would be like if GM sold Oldsmobile brand golf carts before closing the name down. This was probably to capitalize on brand recognition from their parlor organs a generation prior, but by this time the company was a shell of it's former self. They had a relatively large share of the market in the early 20th century, but their business could not keep up with changing tastes and they were largely defunct by the mid-20th century.Īpparently they shifted to produce electronic organs for the home market in the 50s and 60s. Their pipe organs were of indifferent quality and tone, and most have been removed and/or replaced. The organ was tagged for delivery to the Lorain Palace Theater on February 25, 1928. The Lorain Palace Theater’s Wurlitzer is Opus 1858. Each Wurlitzer theater organ has an Opus number, that is a serial number specific to that particular instrument. All keys, buttons, and levels seem to be present. Wood and cloth fabric in great condition, small circular stain/discoloration on top. Powers on, makes sound, electronics seem to be in working order. Estey was primarily a manufacturer of Reed organs (harmoniums) although they also produced pipe organs. Wurlitzer was only one, but by far the largest, of many builders of theater pipe organs.
